With my FOW and OG models I use super glue. Should I use super glue on these? I was thinking about using testors model glue because they are all plastic. Also, do they need to be washed with soap and water before painting?
Thanks

I use Testors brush on glue on PSC. Works well. Haven't washed anything, but I suppose it couldn't hurt.

Washing removed the residue oil-based release agent. It is not necessary if you prime with enamel, but crucial if you use a water base primer.

Save yourself some problems and use plastic glue. No need to wash.

Do NOT use super glue unless it is specifically made for plastics! It will not hold. Testors is a much better alternative.

Model Master as well. In black plastic bottle with a terrific applicator. I always wash my kits with warm water and dish washing soap. Rinse and then let air dry. May not be a necessity but doesn't hurt!

I prefer ordinary plastic liquid glue. But I have to say that i find some of the PSC kits very fiddly and difficult to construct.

Really? Can't say I have found that with any of the PSC models I have built – quite the reverse actually.

You obviously haven't tried any 1/72 kits by UM Models or Dragon……..

But ICM is very nice. You obviously haven't tried any Ace models ;-)

I use super glue on mine, along with pretty much all other hard plastic kits without issue. I've built a lot of their kits in 1/72 (infantry, guns, and vehicles), and didn't find them difficult at all.

As super glue (unlike plastic glues) does not produce a solvent join it is not really the best thing to use on plastic kits, unless you think you might like to take them apart again later !
