I am almost done with my AWI figures and heading into the terrain segment and wanted to know what everyone uses for the ground cover. One of the coolest I saw was at Historicon that Niles from Carnage and Glory had it was light brown teddy bear fur.
I would be using it to cover tables and not a custom built terrain board.
Any pics of yours would be great.
Thanks, Mark

I'm not sure if indoor-outdoor carpets are still made, but about 30 years ago I bought enough tan carpet and green carpet to cover two 5 ft. x 7 ft. tables in each color. It is great table covering but it was apparently terrible carpet because I got it on a close-out sale. If you can find carpet remnants in the right color at the right price, I recommend to give that serious consideration. You can see examples of mine at link html and warin15mm.com/The-Sudan.html

I don't know what happened with the first link above. It was supposed to take you to my Little Bighorn Gallery. Try link

Not C18th nor brown but here's our light green dyed fur used at our Waterloo game a few years ago:

Dying the fur is a bit of work but I can't recommend it too highly.

Grossman,
Here's a link to the games you probably saw at H'con this past summer.

There are other photos too which show other faux fur terrains that I have made. I have well over 300 SF [30 sqm] of this type of terrain to use, the one I used at H'con was based upon Talavera from the Peninsular War

I use acrylic spray paints to color my terrains – much easier and quicker than attempting to dye the material, in my opinion.

Sorry it was Nigel from Carnage and Glory.
That's it Lignier, I was looking for the pic on my phone, he had some cool fences he said his wife made as well.

Thanks for posting that.

Dang ochoin that is quite a setup! Are those all yours, or a club effort?

@ Grossman; thanks
I have 3 gaming pals & we put on a demo game at the local show each year. This year, AZW.

BTW don't forget you can roll up teddy fur for storage without harming it.
