Any 28mm figures available that would be suitable for 550-520 era Persians

Marathon/Platea figures should do; ethnic Sparabara Infantry and shieldless heavy cav. So as above + many other manufacturers – 1st corps, Essex, Old Glory, Warlord (the old Immortal range)etc. Add contingents from conquered States to suit – e.g. add contingents from Parthia after the takeover of the Median Empire; add Lydians after the conquest of their empire and so on.

What historical opponent (if any) will you be facing?

I'm not too familiar with the era, but I believe wargamesfactory.com has some that will work for you.
I have them. They are great models.

Thanks
