Having always wanted to get into 15mm WW2, I was previously a little disappointed at the quality of figures on the market. Also, given the fact that, over the years, I preferred metal over plastic, I finally gave in when I saw the quality of the plastic figures in the FOW Open Fire set. So, with a new collection now underway, I am looking to add to it with models of a similar quality. So, as a newbie, can anyone help me. PSC look very good and seem to match up very well, FOW have a handful of other boxes (are these as good?) and I now believe Wargames Factory have started producing 15mm WW2s also. Based upon the above, what can you recommend and is there anything else in the pipeline from Battlefront, etc. Many thanks in advance. |

PSC tanks are very nicely done and match very well from what I've used (PzIVs and STUGs). I prefer PSC for price and ease of construction. PSC infantry are nice looking but they are differently proportioned than BF's. I haven't bought any of their infantry. Here's a discussion link with photos of infantry by both companies for comparison. TMP link |

I have built a platoon of PSC late war British infantry, and yesterday I received a box of FOW plastic German grenadiers. The British are slightly taller and chunkier than the Germans. While I wish they were a perfect match I really like them both, and since they are in separate units I will have no problem using them. |

Privateer4hire and morrigan both have valid observations and to add to them I would caution that the allied vehicles (M4) will differ in that the BF ones are heavier than the PSC. My Panthers, Tigers, and StuGs mix well. There is also no problem in the infantry figures as I have some from all three manufacturers and if you don't mix them on a stand you won't be able to see the differences. The PSC infantry now have bases that fit into the BF brown base holes. My biggest issue at the moment is when to find the time to paint over 350 German and over 250 American troops! My painting log is full for the next few years and is going to get longer when I get the BF Great War stuff. |

My own experience with PSC vs. Battlefront is my German 251 halftracks. They match up very well size-wise, and after adding stowage to both and painting in the same scheme people have a hard time telling them apart, or even realizing that they are not the same model. Of course, I "cheat" by adding Battlefront medium bases to all my vehicles, and putting metal weights underneath the plastics to give them an equivalent heft. Here is a nice review of them: link |

Thanks so much guys, I'm looking forward to any future quality plastic releases from BF and PSC. It would be nice to see the ranges expand into other theatres too, e.g. North Africa, Pacific, etc. |
