I'm looking for some dromedary camels (one hump) to convert some Perry Plastic Ansar to mounted Pre-Islamic Arabs (aka Midianites). However, the only loose camels I can find in 28mm are from Ebob and they are lovely indeed. However, at 4 quid each (plus shipping to the US) those are more more than I would like to pay, as well as being more expensive than just buying camel mounted Beja from Perry Miniatures or actual Midianites from Warlord.

Do any other manufacturers sell loose camels?

Try Historifigs. Also try Iron Wind Metals in their colonial range (the old Ral Partha)

Try irregular miniatures.

We have a couple different camels that might work for you. We usually have several of each in the stock bins (there is always somebody needing a few camels) .

Drop me a line and I can send or post a few pictures.

These guys have the Ral Partha colonial line but they are true 25mm. You might contact them to see if the camels can be purchased separately.

The old RP camels are going to look puny with Perry riders.

I think Gerry's Castaway camels (Caesar's first link) are some of the most aesthetically pleasing ones made.

Yes, the castaway camels are very nice indeed. I have a good number.

The camels that come in the Safari Toob are roughly 28mm in scale and you can often get them in bulk cheaply.

Castaway's camels are the best, and available 'onesie'.

Castaway Arts camels are good. Second them.
