Chris Slane and Matthew Elliot's graphic novel Nice Day For a War: Adventures of a Kiwi Soldier in World War One got a lot of attention when it was published in 2012. The book is based on the experiences of Mr. Elliot's grandfather. The centenary of the beginning of the war somehow sparked my memory, so I share this now. I have not read it (I don't think that it has been published in the United States), but I thought it might be interesting. Responses from any one who has read the book would be most welcome. Haven't read this, but it would take a lot to be better than Charley's War. link |
