Had the good fortune to pick up what I suspect might be described as a "good reading copy" (ex library, a bit scruffy, but intact and complete) of the first edition of Charles Grant's The War Game, for the princely sum of one pound, in a charity shop in Worthing. I seem to be developing a bit of a collection of these old school wargaming books.

I paid 3 pounds. 75p for mine new in 1974, I still have the sales slip from Ted Suren's "Willies" shop in Lower Sloane Street London. My heirs better ask more than a pound for it when I'm gone.

I've got an ex-library copy as well; it's a great book just to flip through. I haven't played a game using the rules in decades, but a pick it up and read through it on a semi regular basis.

I had to buy my copy over the internet.

But I did find (and buy) two copies of Charge! at a local bookstore, years apart for maybe $10 USD each.

Good buy! And it benefitted a charity too.
