Greetings Gamers!

Although Sailpower's primary scale is 15MM, we have often been asked for more releases in 28MM scale. Well, 28mm fans we have heard you…

The new 28MM whaleboat is great as a ship's boat, for miniature crossings of the Delaware, for your RPG party's adventure to the haunts of the Great White Sea Dragon, or just plan old WHALING! (I suddenly have visions of a Moby Dick game!)

I sculpted this whaleboat to be fairly large, with the traditional 5 station staggered rowing positions typical of New England built whaleboats. You will note ample space between seats for figures. I showed this boat to the local Pathfinder players and they were able to fit both the square type and round bases nicely. I did find in my box of old figs one type of old bevel edge big base that was a hair to wide to fit between the seats but most seem to fit well.

Barrels and treasure chests are available separately (not included – several styles available).

I have the hull seated for gaff rigged mast cast in to the hull.

For our initial release @ Gencon the mast is not included, but can be made using 3/16" dowel for mast and 1/8" for gaff. Mast can be stored in the boat as they would have historically.

Harpoons like those depicted in the pic can be made from toothpicks if desired (use the round kind not the flats).

the 28mm fig is not included, (It's an old glory fig i believe) and is shown for scale reference only.

We will have a limited number of these boats available in the booth at Gencon for $30 USD each. Get them before they are gone!

If you can't make the show and have interest, reach out to us by email and we can chat! We will also hopefully have this available via our online store soon!

Down the road if there is interest I plan to possibly sculpt the complete whaler's kit as accessories and or a variant with a swivel cannon. If there is interest I may also release a kit with popular accessories and the masting included.

Eureka makes two nice whaleboats, with crew, including Captain Ahab.
