Looking for some new Sci-Fi to read. I have read all of Ian Douglas's book about the Marine Corps in Space (I'm really looking for something close to that) and David Shermans Marine Corps Series so now I need something new. If this book is only about Mechs I might like it but I would hope there is some infantry as well. |

You mean this one by Willaim Keith, I can not find one by Ian Douglas link I guess it was originally published under William Keith, never knew they were the same person |

Ian Douglas is one of the three names he uses to write under. |

I haven't, but "Ian Douglas" is the nome de plume for William H. Keith Jr., so if you look for some of his stuff, you'll find other fine examples of military sci-fi. I think the Baen Free Library has some of his works available for free. |

I've read all but 1 volume. I liked them, very much a Battletech vs extra terrestrial aliens vibe. There are some cool scenes where contact is made with the aliens and the some of the characters experience the alien's "worldview". Also, there is an underlying political theme that's kind of relevant to today's scene, but it starts to be a bit much in later volumes. Overall I'd recommend it. |

I think the degree to which you'll enjoy this author is directly correlated to how closely you political views match his. If you are towards the liberal end of the political spectrum then you might find it unappetising. He is also very pro-american and anti-everything else. His writing is pretty good, otherwise. |
