Here is my take on some Martian (nice models) Tripods:

Scout tripod with targeter:

Pod of Scout tripods:

Hope you like them!

Nice work there! I really want to play this game in the near future. One of the guys in our group picked up the starter set. Hope to get it on the table in the not too distant future.

I've got a huge pile of stuff yet to be built, Eric. It's next on the To Do list so I'll let you know!

I do like the use of metallic blue and brass on your tripes. Gives them a more Victorian feel than the usual 50's B-Grade Sci-Fi all-silver we often see.

I really must pull my tentacle out (!), and get cracking on mine!

Oh, and fantastic work, Ray! I am torn as to how to paint my tripods-- the classic silver look is great but I looked at Alien Dungeons force up at Historicon last month and a lot of their stuff was a dull matt grey with silver highlights and they looked incredible. I may just do 3 tripod aggression cells in matching colors and vary the schemes between cells.

I do like the black eyes on your tripods. It makes them look more evil and less cartoony than the all red eyes in most of the examples I have seen.

Awesome! That Pod is totally blinged out.
He looks very regal.

great scheme!

Great work!!

I echo all the praise.

How tall are those tripods?

xLAVAx05 Aug 2014 8:42 a.m. PST

They are a little less than 5 inches (12 cm) tall.

Thanks for the comments!

And yes, I was trying to give them a bit of a Victorian feel with the different metal trappings.

Cheers, again!

They look very nice…one of the aspects I like about this line so far is the different looks being seen.

Well done- I echo the comment that you did a nice job making then look more VSF than 1950s. Also, the bases look great!

Yes I will second that I like the black eye as opposed to the other way I have seen them painted. Nice contrast of metallic colors.

Naz let me know when you want to get some stuff painted. Love to play a game.

Cheers, Everybody!

Looking at my Scouts you can probably get a fair idea how I will paint the Red Martian…

Lucius05 Aug 2014 7:29 p.m. PST

LOVE the black eye. In fairness, a red-eyed scout looks ok because the lens is flatter than the assault tripod.

It is a red-eyed assault tripod that runs the risk of looking like Rudolf. I just couldn't take it aesthetically, so I cut off the "nose" with a razor saw, sanded it down, and placed a red model railroad lens in the hole.

They look much better – much less cartoony.

Very nicely done!
