Next time you visit Gettysburg, you will likely notice a strange sight hovering over the battlefield. The Gettysburg Heritage Center on Steinwehr Ave. is offering Balloon rides, launching from their parking lot. This is one feature of the Heritage Center (formerly the American Civil War Wax Museum) as part of their complete renovation of exhibits and attractions for visitors. We were short on time, but hope to return to take a balloon ride in near future and provide you some "aerial" views of the battlefield. I was informed the balloon ride ticket was $20. USD
Remodeled new look inside:
Shameless plug…And of course our little "future wargamer" wants to remind you the Center's gift shop still offers the Gettysburg Soldiers Rules for sale:

Very cool! I didn't even know the Civil War Wax Museum had sold and was open for business under the new name! But I have to say, you won't get me on a balloon ride! |

FYI Update: The Gettysburg Heritage Center informed me they are NOT BRINGING BACK the Balloon rides this year, 2015. It was too dependent on weather (even a breezy day grounded them), making the ride cost prohibitive. |
