The Jackson (MS) Gamers are at it again. Follow this link to a great AAR and images from the soon-to-be-released TSATF variant, The Sword in East Africa:

We are planning on its "official" debut at Colonial Barracks IV, Nov. 7, 8 & 9 in New Orleans. Meanwhile enjoy the preview.

…the mast of the radio station was visible to the British if they bothered to look.

Looking forward toward seeing the variant rules as this is an area I already have lots of figures for in 28mm. Nice battle report.

Thanks for the info. Looks promising…

That's good news. This is one of those periods that I have wanted to do "one of these days". Maybe this variant will be the push that I need to finally buy some figures. Who makes good ranges of figures for this conflict in 20mm or 25/28mm?
Thanks,
Clay

There was actually an "unofficial" variant done back in the '70s. It appeared in The Courier. I don't recall the author, the last name may have been Lubbers (?)

Nick,

I think the one in the Courier was for the Wild West………?

ITALWARS05 Aug 2014 6:52 a.m. PST

I think that this variation offered by Courrier was called "The Sword in Palestine"…and aimed at WW1 Sideshows in general..with a pict of some Frontier King's African Rifles escorting an Armoured Car..the article also proposed some few ideas/scenarios with Toes tailored for TSATF including one set on Mesopotamia with a British river gunboat..
i should have somewhere a faded photocopy or detached page of the magazine…

Italwars, I'd love to see a copy of that article! Please post it or email me a copy.

The Sword in Palestine is still available from Sergeants Three.
