Here are pics of our Stones River game. The board came out great, we even won a PELA award for it.

A lot of good lessons learned there. Do you have instructions on how you did the rivers? Did you paint the river first then pour the liquid? Eric |

Looks great! A few questions: Dimensions of the boards? Scale of the figures? Each unit is a regiment? brigade? what? Rules used? |

@Din, I hunted around youtube/TMP/HirstArts forums for tips on using the Realistic Water. I think next time I want to try Envirotex lite. Quick and dirty on how I did the rivers: 1 Dig out river with A Stanley Surform and sandpaper. 3 Glue Rocks and stones to river bed 2 Paint River bottom. Dark in the center, getting lighter to the sides. 3 Paint Rocks and stones 4 Dam up the edges of the boards so the realistic water would not spill out. 5 Pour Woodland Scenic's Realistic Water. No more than 1/8 inch at a time, let cure and repeat. I only had time for 2 pours. Don, Thanks. The total board was 5x8. Made up of four 2x5 sections. We used 15mm figs. Mostly Old Glory and Essex. Each Unit is a brigade. The rules are homegrown that we have been refining for about 15 years now. We have a 18th Century variant and Napoleonic variant that we also put on games with.
Thanks for the comments, Xin |
