This is the third of the scenarios for Galactic Knights at Historicon, this one taking place on Saturday night. The Avarians launch a surprise attack on the Carnivorans at Squirrel Harbor. They must destroy the enemy troop transports quickly and get out before the progressively increasing Carnivoran reinforcements overwhelm them in turn!
Scenario, brief AAR, and information about making custom DRIFT markers on my blog at:

Sorry, something's wrong with your link(dropped the final 'L'), but a scroll down and click 'Galactic Knights' makes it all better. Does GK have weapons/alert/ready status? I remember the old Starfire did a similar scenario, and trying to get your up to speed before the totally trashed was nailbiting. I realize the reinforcements do about the same thing, but having targets waking up as they are being trashed, rather than waking, then coming on board, does have a different feel. In Full Thrust, you have to house rule weapons, but enemy ships coming in screaming, as you start to move from speed 0 is pretty hairy. Doug |

Let's try the link again: link (on vacation and using my wife's Macbook instead of my normal PC) GK doesn't have a provision for powering up, but I originally wrote the scenario that way (certainly nothing hard about writing a scenario specific rule for it), then changed it when it became obvious it would be too difficult to get the ships off the table with that aded in. Perhaps with more Transports (at last four, I'd say), that would work, though. |

OK, the link as above seems to work OK! |

I'd expect some 'stopped' escorts present, as well. Raid against targets is always a question of priorities; 'the transports are my stated priority target, but scraging escorts before they start firing is a person priority.' ;->= Doug |

In the scenario, Carnivoran Squadron 1 (the escorts) started powered up, with an initial drift (speed) of about 3, and on the table. The Marines were allegedly drinking it up at some dive of a spacer's bar at the time of the attack! The Avarian player did as you said, and targeted the wraships at first, saving the Transports for last – he almost got a little too "cute" with it, but it made the game tense, with it coming down to the last beam whether one of the Transports would make it to safety, albeit severely battered! |
