Here is a link to an AAR on a double-blind game our group played recently in 6mm-scale:

PDF link

The scenario is a Micro Melee adaptation of a skirmish scenario from "Final Combat: Unternehman Luttich" entitled "Clash at la Croix des Septs Coeurs."

During the early morning darkness of 6 August 1944 the lead elements of Das Reich attempt to infiltrate the US lines near Mortain in the opening moves of the German counteroffensive to cut off the American breakout from Normandy. The AAR is from the perspective of the US commander of the road block. Roger played the US side and wrote the AAR. Steve played the German side and Ben GM'd the game. Each side was given a unique scenario briefing and received no information on the enemy's forces, mission, and set-up zones. The players also had the additional challenge of the darkness, which reduced observation ranges. Only after the game ended did the two sides learn the opposing sides' full set-up and schemes of maneuver.

Great stuff, I appreciate your posting your batrep.

And, if you don't hear it enough, I love your books! They are absolutely fantastic, please keep them coming as often as you can. I have the following:
Arnhem
Arracourt
Jupiter
Saipan
Unternehmen Luttich
Operations Stalemate
Operation Watchtower
Prokhorovka
Tier One

I believe Ortona will be next pick-up, so please, spit those books out as fast as you can (I should mention that all mine are PDFs), I can't get enough. Of course I can't afford enough either, but let me worry about that! Now, if you can just figure out a way to package up spare time and sell it to me, we'd really be on to something. ;)

V/R,
Jack

Jack…thank you so much for your kind words and support. The next release (in a few weekks) is Bourguébus Ridge. It tells the story of the 11th Armored Division during Operation Goodwood in 16 company level scenarios. I hope you like it. Ben

Ben,

Excellent, it looks right up my alley. I've been on a 'British in Normandy' kick here of late, it looks great. I also finally put in an order and received a Pendraken Sdkfz 251/22 (long 75mm) so that I can play out all the scenarios in Operation Jupiter (though I do sub Shermans for Churchills and Cromwells).

Now I just need to find the time… Again, please keep kicking them out, I appreciate it!

V/R,
Jack
