Hello,

I have recently purchased and am looking to purchase some used and painted miniatures. I have come to realize that my ambition for collecting Napoleonics outweighs my painting stamina. My plan is to use the previously used miniatures to fill out the ranks and to paint the front ranks myself with particular attention to detail.

I am looking for manufacturer of these or a good match from another manufacturer, I am not quite sure on size as they haven't arrived yet. I have asked the selling party and they are not sure either.

Thanks in advance.

I believe the Brits are Battle Honours Peninsular War. 15 mm from heal to eye.
Still available from Old Glory/19th Cent. Miniatures

I believe the Poles are Minifigs 2nd Generation (Super Detail Range). The giveaway is the stiff poses. (My first guess was that they were 25mm Minifigs till I saw you stated they were 15mm.) The third Generation (sculpted by Dave Higgs) would be in less stiff poses and the muskets would look different.

I could be wrong, but someone will be sure to come along and dispute this.

In both cases, I would be proud to have these units on my game table!

Thanks for the responses, is it safe to assume that Minifigs 2nd can be easily matches with their latest release of sculpts?

Based on pictures the 2nd gen versions seem squatter and thicker while the latest ones seem thin. But it is difficult to determine by pics alone.

There is not a huge difference size-wise between 2nd and 3rd gen Minifigs. The 3rd gen sculpts are slightly taller and perhaps a touch leaner. The biggest difference is in terms of pose. 3rd gen Minifigs tend to be in very active poses – charging rather than advancing – with even the marching figures doing a vigorous, arm-swinging march.

The horses are also very different in pose and style. The 2nd gen Minifigs were uniformly on horses in a walking pose while the 3rd gen horses are nearly all charging.

The differences are more in terms of the character of the figures than their size.
