"We were lucky enough to be in Hall H when Christopher Nolan and Matthew McConaughey surprise-debuted this new trailer for Interstellar, and we loved it. This look gives us a lot more space, which is awesome, in addition to the emotional weight we've seen in earlier clips. McConaughey's turn as Cooper is already breaking our hearts, and we've only see like 90 seconds of his performance. So, feast your eyes, and then promptly dry them. November cannot get here fast enough."

Still not going to see it due to the agenda that it is pushing.

And that is…?

Mithmee31 Jul 2014 5:58 p.m. PST

Sorry that would be going into Blue Fez arena.

Oh the trailers do show it though.

Perhaps he is concerned with an anti-troll agenda?

doug redshirt31 Jul 2014 8:51 p.m. PST

Didn't really see an agenda in it so far. Well other then the one that eventually we need to move out to other star systems. Food is nice though.

Go to the stars or die.

That isn't agenda. That's fact.

Regardless of the reason, staying here waiting for something to punch our ticket is a very bad idea.

Tango0101 Aug 2014 10:25 a.m. PST

I don't get the "agenda" idea.

He thinks the plot element of environmental collapse leading to a food shortage is a "agenda" . To me it just sounds like a plot reason to force humanity to explore space.

Many thanks for your explanation my friend.
Agree with you.

My issue with the plot that I see here, is that for all the trouble you would go through for one interstellar ship using any tech like this, you could build an orbital elevator… and the trouble of moving any meaningful ammount of PEOPLE to the interstellar planet you could instead build a BUNCH of O'Neil Cylinders to work as orbital farms.

Not to knock interstellar travel, It -NEEDS- to happen… but the plot holes in this movie are almost of the same degree of why you need giant kaiju monsters to fight the other giant kaiju monsters…

plot element of environmental collapse leading to a food shortage

Just what caused the environmental collapse?

That is the agenda that they are pushing.

Fabe Mrk 203 Aug 2014 9:34 a.m. PST

Its not necessarily a plot hole BigNick,it could be a matter of not having time time and/or resources to build a space elevator and O'Neil cylinders, And that one interstellar ship to me looks more like a scout to see whats on the other side of the wormhole, not a full fledged colonization vessel.

A sinking ship isn't an agenda.
A sinking ship is a sinking ship and most of us can't swim.
