Practically every wargamer suffers from piles… piles of unpainted figures, that is. In my latest post on my blog: link … I address this painful issue, and, amongst other things, consider how best to apply the correct painting ointment, to relieve the worrying symptoms. Certainly I myself continue to suffer horribly from a grotesque case of piles – warning: the post contains graphic images – a chronic case, you might even say. Certainly it's one that's seemingly ongoing and nigh on incurable: the piles get ever bigger, and I struggle to apply the ointment in sufficient quantities to keep pace with them! Also this post contains my Smolensk 1812 OOBs, in case they're of any interest to anyone out there. Cheers 'Doc' Sebastopol |

I've read that lancers can be helpful in dealing with the piles. Doug |

I've also noticed that as I get older my piles seem to get bigger. Sometimes if I spray them, some might call it priming, I find it offers a modicum of relief from the distress the piles can otherwise cause |

I have got professional help to remove my piles, it is called a painting service and the procedure can be performed without anesthesia. |

Larfing, I've lots of ointment in many containers that are in many colours, just never seem to have time enough to apply in sufficient quantity and it needs a bit of skill to apply properly for temporary relief. Guess this malady 'piles' is a perennial hazard for us gamers. Cheers here's hoping your treatments all lead to some decent gaming. |

Hmmm, hide all the piles. Then tackle a couple of small piles at a time. I cannot even stand too many primed figures hanging around on my desk even when I can find room for them amongst the paint bottles that are not where they should be. I have to have a plan and a desk tidy up every week or I get in a right piled state. |

Your piles are small piles. Nothing to worry about for the next 10 years. |

Are piles infectious? Dom's trying to reduce his and I think I'm going to get another small pile as a result. Bother! TMP link |

My biggest guilt trip was WW2 1/72nd tanks. I'd build the model, spray paint it the primary color then it'd sit in a box with dozens of other primed and assembled tanks, waiting for me to get off my , detail and decal them. In some cases they sat there for years. When I finally started working on them it took two months to finish them up (still not dusted though). Now I only have a half dozen left… |
