Hi,

at the moment I am reading the Warrior of Rome series and I wonder how I can convert a boardgame (or campaign rules) into a great 3d map with miniatures (baccus 6mm or Irregular 2mm instead of counters) Setting: Rhine border with limes and legioncamps, cities…
Any ideas??

I don't know of a boardgame that covers what you want. There are a number of games dealing with the battles of the era or strategic level rise/fall of Rome. Your idea seems to be somewhere in between.

You could make your own area movement style map of the limes area though it would take quite a bit of research unless the book series gives you sufficient information.

I used the Cosmographia by Claudius Ptolomaeus to give my campaigns a period flavour. These can be found online at the Bibliothèque national de France.

See post nr. 319, page 32 of the Severan project at Fanaticus Forum with a link to the library:

Maybe I can use parts of the Vae Victis Game Imperator as a start?
