Is there still a demand for them? Just curious.

I remember that discussion Dan. I've come round to the thinking that Gamecraft's laser cut mdf terrain is a good alternative.

Boy, does that bring back memories. When I was a lot younger, I used to spend hours building with these sets. It was fun to see if I could use all the pieces for one building.

I remember those also. Grandma made sure they didn't end up in the trash. Years later I discovered them and turned them into finished permanent models.

I think we had these at school…

Those look like they would be great for kaiju gaming.

I'm thinking Soviet architecture from the Stalinist period – unfortunately they never made it to the UK (the toys, not the Soviets I mean). We used to have a toy with girders and bracing made in polystyrene that clipped together – you could make bridges and something that would look like the internal steel framework for one of the above buildings. I had a great old time with that stuff as a kid.

These items are still very much in demand. I have fond memories of them all AND learned how buildings are build and go together at age 8. (I'm 64 now.)

Just get on e-bay and use skyline in toys to see the present demand.

Kenner Girder & Panel sets--my brother had one. boy that took a lot of punishment!

My younger brother and I had a set or two of the Girder & Panels. We played dinosaur invasion, army men, space men and who knows what else with them. They pop up on e bay often.

Oh indeed yes. My grandmother had the skyline set and I had the girder and panel. Not sure what happened to either one. We also had Exin Castillos, which were fantastic. (Unlike the preceding two, these are accounted for.)

That's it DZToes – mine was in red plastic and the tiles had road markings on them. It was by Chad Valley here in the UK I think. I think this was the mid to late Sixties.

Thanks guys! I guess I better check and see now many pieces my Elgo/Halsam set contains then.

I think this is appropriate, but sharing a recent find. Some old plastic construction set I picked up way way back. Dusted off and given a paint job for use with 15mm sci fi and post apoc games.
Pretty sure its German in origin – Constructo Plastic!

Nice indeed! The original model's color scheme is exactly the same as a car service center near my place. Funny coincidence.
