We had another follow-up with Dad's orthopedic surgeon on Monday and he's been cleared for full weight-bearing physical therapy (PT). This means a few more weeks in rehab and while he's not pleased, we are. He turned 84 last week and considering all he's been through, his doctors are really amazed at his overall good physical condition.

So please keep the cards and emails coming. He sees and reads them all and is really appreciative and moved by them as are we. And Dad is really looking forward to Colonial Barracks IV (Nov. 7-8-9) especially since we're featuring the USMC.

Thanks again to everyone and continue to keep us on those wargamer prayer lists……..

I hope your Dad knows how much he's contributed to the hobby. In my case, over 30 years since I bought TSATF and I still play and introduce it to others.

Nick Pasha30 Jul 2014 2:52 p.m. PST

Lori, I am glad dad is doing better. Make sure he knows what Jeff, Hogan, myself and others are doing to keep TSATF going in the spirit of good gaming!

Address to send a card, Lori?

rmaker30 Jul 2014 4:25 p.m. PST

Ragbones, use the South Carrollton address on the Sergeants 3 website.

Good to hear things are progressing well.

Good news! PT really helps folks recover, but it can be a real bear. Best wishes to him and the family!

I can believe how hard PT may be, but NOTHING could be harder than his years in Korea delivering everlasting war lessons to NorKo's and ChiComs.

Sergeant Brom, if you can beat them, you can beat ANYTHING, Sir!

coopman,

Will you be at Heat of Battle next weekend?

bkbreakerbk01 Aug 2014 8:35 a.m. PST

Lori, Thanks for the updates. It's great to hear that Dad is doing so well. I saw, on another thread, your mention of his having unpainted lead at home. That made me smile. I game "fairly" regularly with Leo Cronin, who (as you might know) now lives not in the frozen wastes of New England but in sunny South Carolina. He is fond of re-telling that story relating to the value of always having some unpainted lead at home! Larry's got the right idea, in making sure there's always X amount of it at home; he will therefore live forever! Looking forward to seeing you all at C.B. All the best, >Tim Chadwick
