Hi,
Painting up some 28s in greatcoat for 100 days campaign. Grenadiers have epaulettes only.
I had originally been told Glory Red game colour 72.011 was what I should used but it appeared very dark. I then tried model colour vermillion 70.909 but this looks much too pink/red.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

What happens if you paint them Gory Red, and then highlight with a mixture 50/50 mix of the Gory and Vermillion?

I would paint them the same colour as you would use for the collars and cuffs of the line infantry. Personally, I use scarlet but I am doing 15mm figures so you might want to use a slightly darker red. You could try going back to using your original shade for a base colour and then highlight with scarlet.

Thanks guys,
I'll try the highlight over the original colour and see how that works out.
