"A number of our customers have requested can they buy the new Greek archers and slingers in separate packs? We were reluctant to do this for some time as it costs more in production time for these to be separated from the parent sets at the factory that makes our figures."

Very Nice!

maybe they should have made a box of these two and not bothered with the rather overdone unarmoured hoplite" Who in their right mind needs unarmoured hoplites?

Cardinal Hawkwood31 Jul 2014 6:40 a.m. PST

plastic cavalry would make sense?

Pattus Magnus31 Jul 2014 7:23 a.m. PST

I would think unarmoured hoplites would be in great demand by anyone building armies for the Pelopennesian Wars to 1st Charonea period when most hoplites didn't wear body armour…

Good for the earlier period for poorer rear-rank warriors who couldn't afford full kit, or for use in Athens' attempted colonization in Thrace as ekdromoi (picked warriors in light kit who ran ahead of the mainline to pin Thracian peltasts).

I definitely agree that plastic greek cavalry would be a great addition.

Put pelte and/or smaller round shields on and you have 'Iphikration' hoplites

Put a thureos on some of them and you have thureophoroi or Thracians and add a different helmet to get Illyrian warriors.

You could do Sikels, Italian hill tribes javelin men and many others with the additions of other helms and shields but that probably needs a belted torso, more sleeved chitons maybe some pleated and some with raised hems on the hips.

Hmmm – It's a shame. At basically £1.00 GBP a figure it removes my interest. I'd rather buy metal.

Littlearmies02 Aug 2014 10:49 a.m. PST

Bandolier – if you buy the boxes (as opposed to the unit packs) you get 56 figures for £29.95 GBP (evidently 53p a figure) – add to that the possibility of buying a three box deal at £85.50 GBP (p&p free)and the price per figure drops to about 51p.

yeah, I think they've done the best they possibly can given the economics of packaging, etc.

Can't wait to see their cavalry!

Cavalry? Where do you read that they are going to produce cavalry? That would be most welcome but I haven't come across any such announcement. Do tell!
