"Another show to get posters is SyFy's upcoming zombie drama Z NATION which comes to the sf channel this Autumn with 13 episodes set in post apocalyptic USA. Starring Harold Perrineau, Tom Everett Scott, DJ Qualls, Michael Welch, Kellita Smith, Anastasia Baranova, Russel Hodgkingson and Keith Allan Z NATION starts three years after the zombie virus has gutted the country, following a team of everyday heroes who must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California, where the last functioning viral lab waits for his blood. Although the antibodies he carries are the world's last, best hope for a vaccine, he hides a dark secret that threatens them all. With humankind's survival at stake, the
ragtag band embarks on a journey of survival across three thousand miles of rusted-out post-apocalyptic America.Similar to THE WALKING DEAD, this show will also deal with the moral dilemmas in such times."

> Hope have the quality of The Walking Dead.

Being on Syfy I would bet against it. They did have BSG though so anything is possible.

Oddball31 Jul 2014 1:55 p.m. PST

I'll watch anything with zombies.

"…following a team of everyday heroes who must transport the only known survivor of the plague from New York to California…"

So then the rest of the main cast are NOT survivors?
If there is merely one survivor, I think humanity is doomed unless that guy can self-replicate.

It says in the OP that "X" contracts the virus dies and comes back human not "Zombie". The others are just punters who have never been infected.

Zombienado vs ZombieShark?

Brother Jim15 Aug 2014 12:08 p.m. PST

This premieres on Friday 12 September at 10PM on SyFy.
I'll give it a chance, but that's the same time that Constantine is going to be on. So if it doesn't grab and keep my attention before 24 October it gets dropped.

According to the commercial, the guy they're transporting is the only known survivor of a zombie bite.

RustDevilGames15 Aug 2014 1:11 p.m. PST

More zombie apocalypse shows? No complaints here! :)

Brother Jim12 Sep 2014 7:46 a.m. PST

Tonight at 10PM !!

I hope it doesn't suck and that it's not so entertaining that I feel conflicted about watching Constantine at the end of Oct.

Camcleod12 Sep 2014 7:05 p.m. PST

Just watched the first episode.
It was hilariously awful !!

Not very polished and very hard to tell if it was intended to be funny or not.

Brother Jim12 Sep 2014 7:38 p.m. PST

I agree, so far there will be no conflict with Constantine when it comes on. Plus it wasn't so bad that I'm not willing to waste an hour a week on it for a few weeks.

Darkoath14 Sep 2014 2:15 p.m. PST

Is a Constantine series being done?

I watched the Z Nation first episode… definately not as good as The Walking Dead… but not too bad. I didn't like how fast a person turns (seconds) and really didnt like the super zombie baby that could bite. But I did like the culture that was show that developed during the current zombie crisis. The zombies were pretty well done. The series seems better than alot of bad B zombie movies. I have some hope that it will do well.

RustDevilGames15 Sep 2014 10:14 a.m. PST

I still need to finish the first episode, but my hopes for the quality of writing were not really met – that said, I think we all may be a little spoiled by The Walking Dead. It's about the same quality as most B zombie movies.

Still, in the first few minutes there were enough hooks to get me to finish it at some point this week!

tuscaloosa15 Sep 2014 5:32 p.m. PST

I liked the show. The makeup and some details weren't quite the same production values as Walking Dead, but it was still quite enjoyable.

For me, the writing has always been the weak spot of Walking Dead (characters have inconsistent motivations and are contradictory, and do dumb things), and the writing for this show was at least as good as WD.

SPOILER ALERT: And, in true WD style, they kill characters in whom they've invested just enough to make you think they'll play a central part in the story.

@Darkoath,
Yes, NBC is going to have a Constantine series. It premieres on Friday 24 Oct 14 at 10PM. That's the same night Grimm starts its new season at 9PM.
I have no idea how close it's going to be to the comics (I've never read them), my only exposure is the movie (which I liked).

Darkoath17 Sep 2014 10:36 p.m. PST

@Brother Jim,

I also loved the movie! That is great news! I also really enjoyed most of the Hellblazer comics that I have read which is where the material for Constantine comes from.

I had always hoped that a second Constantine movie would be done… I heard originally it was supposed to be a trilogy.

Brother Jim20 Sep 2014 7:48 a.m. PST

I either missed some info or the stupid was so strong it burned in episode 2.

tuscaloosa10 Oct 2014 2:34 p.m. PST

Now they've lost me with the idea of a zombie tornado. Over the top, derivative of the "Sharknado" series, and too stupid to be believed. Oh well, WD starts up again on Sunday, I can look forward to that.
