Hi! What is the best metallic color from Vallejo to paint Roman armor in 6mm miniatures?

Thanks!

Any of the Model Air range.

I like their gunmetal for most things. The others just seem like silver.

Oily Steel (Acero Engrasado) is my favorite for iron/steel armor, although admittedly 28mm scale.

Both Oily Steel and Gun Metal should be fine, depends on how shiny you want. Oily Steel is a bit shinier, but not quite silvery.

Thanks for the a great question as well as responses. I'm still emotionally stuck on using enamel metallics but was interested in how the Vallejo range worked since they seem to have some of the better acrylics that I have used.

Their "Natural Steel" is very good not to dark. In fact a light wash with black ink or "P3" Armour wash, should do the trick. but it has to be a very thin light wash so all the detail and armour doesn't get hidden,at 6mm you want it some what bright.

Undercoat in black then dry brush oily steel. Works for me!

If you are doing mail armour the colour you are aiming for is grey. Mail just isn't shiny and metallic looking!
