Professor Zhang Longqiao of the Chinese department of Peking Teachers College discovered in the 1970s a passage in Shen's book "Mengxi bitan" ("Brush Talks From Dream Brook," also known as "Dream Pool Essays") describing the pearl-like UFOs. This guy is NOT a scientist. He is at best a literature teacher and possibly even a grammar teacher. And he's not "eminent" if he's teaching at Beijing Teachers' College. Shen Kuo was a poet, and his work is full of fanciful language. My guess is Prof. Zhang is a UFO enthusiast who is trying to fob off poetic expression as proof of his mania – not uncommon among such folk. |
