Since we've been on the subject of Viking Forge lately . . .

Above are my builds of the Viking Forge/Seabattles Asama Maru and Hikawa Maru.

This little convoy has the older Viking Forge "Nippon Maru" as Kyokuto Maru, a C in C "Nippon Maru" as Tatekawa Maru a Panzerschiffe "Large Maru", a small Panzerschiffe minelayer, and a Viking Forge "Etorofu" as a Shimushu class escort.

Finally, here's a comparison of GHQ, Panzerschiffe, and Viking Forge/Seabattles.

I talk about all of these in a post called To War on a Japanese Liner. Hope you enjoy.

Fantastic work. I am following your stuff with interest as I have never done naval gaming before.

Thank you Rhysius, jpattern2, and Schlesien.

And in honor of Shlesien I just happen to have a model . . .

In approximately her WWII guise.

Very nice work. How did you make the dock? Also, how do you do masts?

SymphonicPoet31 Jul 2014 12:24 p.m. PST

That dock was a piece of balsa with added clutter. (Styrene parts, a 1/2400 landing craft, a stack, some styrene rods, and so forth.) The masts are all Plastruct styrene rod, genrally small. 0.020 and 0.015 inches. I use 0.010 for anchor chain and very light masts.

And thank you. I'm glad you like them.
