…an online Order of Battle for the initial Fleet? I can kinda piece one together while reading the first book, but I have to work on my own book, so if anyone has a link that could help with the ship names and their commanders, I would greatly appreciate it. BTW…I did Google search and even got the author's homepage along w/Wikipedia, no luck. |

I think some of the later books had a complete listing of ships??? IIRC it didn't list the names of escorts, just the bigger ships (CL's on up). Damon. |

I've purchased up to the 4th book in the series so far, so I'll look into those. I have two coupons AND a $25 USD gift card from me rotten daughter to B&N, but I think I should use those funds for more "high brow" reading! Gulp! Update: Just found the (abridged)OB in both volumes 3 & 4. A) I had no idea the Lost Fleet was so large, which begs the question, just how big the Syndic Fleet is and… B) Sucks that commanding officer names and vessels in the smaller squadrons are not included, at least on-line, but at least the OB is a start. Thank you for your help, Garand! |

I love the books in all the series. Lost stars, and. Beyond the frontier. It's also possible in some of the descriptions to play spot the historical inspiration. I have contacted the author since I want to set a game design in that universe. (I really like the combat design as its programmed tactics and all in the computers hands) |

Yes, the OOB in the later books is the closest we get to a 'complete' list. I'm pretty sure Campbell avoided naming every single ship in order to give himself a little wiggle room in the series. No point in repeating the Voyager and the Infinite Shuttle Bay problem all over again. -Will |

I dunno, I read the first one after it was recommended to me (I love me some space action, huge fan of the Honor Harrington books, especially the earlier ones) and it really didn't set me on fire with the desire to read any more. I pegged most of what would happen early on, and when I sneaked a peak at some of the synopsis for the following books it looks like I wasn't wrong there either. Still, glad to hear that other folks are enjoying them! |

the oob is in the later book (ebook versions certainly), anything smaller than a battle cruiser is only named once its listed as destroyed, a fun series of books. |

I am enjoying the series, up to Book #4 at this point, but it could be a bit better, the author has a hard time in really vocalizing his status and arguments in re: to the VP and the Captain of his flagship. Maybe a woman's touch in that regards, in the form of a ghost/co-writer, would be helpful after he set out just what he was trying to get across to the reader. Can't complain too much about the battle, but maps would always be nice too…especially in re: Maddazz's reference to historical inspiration. |
