I have received the first two ships for the game. "Revenge" and "San Martin." Very nice and highly detailed. On "Revenge be careful of the forward mast it fits in close proximity to the bow spirit and the ratlines fit in holes in the masts.
They are 1/350.

I was chomping at the bit for those in the many months of expected release/info blackout. I don't suppose the actual game will ever come out.

I was planning to get one through Amazon – no one else I could find had them at anything like a reasonable price- but I'm happy to see that Good Old TWS carries them (as well as the perpetually preordered game. How many times have I looked at that page?!?)

I love the full hull/ waterline option.

So if ships of the line in this period were in the 150 ft range in length, these models are what, in the 4" to 6" range depending on the exact type?

The hexes are 4 3/4" by 2 5/8"……

Anyone tried the rules yet? I'm in two minds as to whether to get a set or just write my own :)

The basic game with rules isn't available yet…..

The hexes are 4 3/4" by 2 5/8"……

Is that 4 3/4" across the sides or from corner to opposite corner?

I saw the box game at Historicon on Saturday night. Three people were trying to put the ships together with no glue and a nail clipper for a demo run on Sunday morning. When I last saw them they had one boat almost done and it looked impressive, sort of like the old Airfix kit of the Golden Hind from the 1970s.

They look pretty nice. Just the thing for the Perfect Captain's "Spanish Fury:Sail" rules.

They do look nice. I have not put mine together yet but they are nice. The Spanish ship San Martin is 4 1/3" on the waterline.

The scale of 1/350 is unfortunate as they are kinda small to go with the Old Glory 1/300 ships. The San Martin is almost exactly the same size as the old Pyro/Life Like Spanish Galleon kit.

Sounds interesting. We did a number of games using conversions of the old Airfix kits many years back. I've still got mine in a box somewhere. Might work out that I can dust them off again for a bit of different fun.

I much prefer the old Airfix scale to the OG one.

I has a model of the latter and sold it off. I also hated the (too heavy & bendy) metal masts and such, and couldn't be bothered to replace them.

Though yours look lovely, VSB. grin
