I am working up a list of the top games covering The Great War. These can be either miniature or board games just as long as they cover World War I. (I would even add in the Russian Civil War.) Please let me know what are your favorites. link Thank you Jon lebanon1982.blogspot.com |

Thank you Dave, I found the look of Triumph of Chaos daunting. How does it play? |

Aviation: Wings of War (FFG), Wings of Glory (Ares). Not profound, not even very educational very often, but whooping good fun and an easy game to introduce people to our hobby. Strategic: Paths of Glory (GMT). Important for pushing card-driven wargames into the spotlight, and for pushing GMT into the fore of wargame publishing when AH stopped. And a great, tense, calorie-burning strategic game. |

Tactical – land – 1914: Soldiers by SPI. link An old OOP boardgame that was thoroughly researched and playtested before release – somewhat of a rarity in those days. |

A second for Soldiers. What about the Ace of Aces series? And if the RCW is included, certainly SPI's Russian Civil War deserves mention. Avalon Hill's 1914. SPI's Flying Circus. Fletcher Pratt's Naval Wargames Rules. |
