On the night of 28th/29th July 1914, the Austro Hungarian gunboat, Bodrog, fired the first shots of WW1.

Remarkably the Bodrog is still afloat on the Danube having been in 5 naval actions and been scuttled twice (1941 and 1944)

It would be great to see such an important vessel restored.

Its survival is remarkable!

Once restored, the Bodrog could be used to start WW3. ;-)

And where do you suggest that it "sail", in order to accomplish that task?…

Another of the AH Danube monitors, the Leitha was restored back in 2010. The hull was found working as a gravel barge. Leitha is based out of Budapest. Cant find it right now but there is a video on line that shows her retoration and display during the Szent István day (Aug 20th) celebrations in front of the Parliment.
