Yeah, really …
Here is the WIP on how you can make your own retroawesomeness. It's a nice base project, and I bet everyone has their ideas on how to customize them and improve on it! |

Like them although I think I would have left the cardboard center out but that is just me. This gives me some ideas. |

There is a Flash Gordon style aspect to the cardboard piece. There is also a bit of functionality. It gives the two discs and the sheath for the down something to anchor on. It also makes it much easier to attach accoutrements (guns, arms, etc.) to the outside of the hull (otherwise, you're dealing with curved surfaces and potentially drilling more holes). If you went with just a regular circle cardboard, it wouldn't change the Mars Attacks aesthetic. However you want, have fun with the idea. I've got some larger and more varied ones that I will put up in a couple of weeks. |

Ah, nifty. Pure Flash Gordon. |

Great idea and nice execution. It just needs lots of sound effects playing as well as some theme music. "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "Forbidden Planet" soundtracks for a start. |

Or the "Mars Attacks" soundtrack for all the Therimin music. |
