For the last couple of years I have been working on our houserules for small modern battles with element based 15mm figures (Peter Pig's AK47 line plus others.) We have a small gaming community (5 of us) & I could use some outside feedback. Any one interested I will send a copy of the rules. They are 2 pages long & use a mix of multiple D6 & 2D6 mechanics. Each element is a vehicle or fire team. The game is played on a mat of squares or hexes. We used Kallistra's hex terrain system but we used to use a mat divided into 3 to 4 inch squares. Small arms range is 4 hexes, armor ratings & penetration go from 0 to 10. Firing is semi-simultaneous but movement is not. Firing sequence is more or less based on situational awareness. Stands with a leader fire first, followed by firing at enemy in the open, then at infantry in cover. The first hit on an infantry stand pins it, the second kills it. Vehicles take 1 hit. Morale, armor, armor penetration, cover are all worked into the saves. It plays quickly. I am tempted to add more detail but of course that is the enemy of speed. John Kelly jpkellysr@gmail.com |
