I have a large army of 15mm AWI Frontier figs and have found that some of the Essex range are close but thought someone might have an idea if any other manufatures might come close.

IIRC Frontier are a little thick but I think I used to use them with Essex, Old Glory, Minifigs and Stone Mountain minis. I just kept them in separate units for the most part.

I mix in Essex 7yw figs and they look fine although somewhat different in style. I also use Essex and Old Glory cav with them and they seem to work OK (I don't have any frontier cav) but I intend to add some Old Glory infantry soon and I expect them to work OK too. I find Minifig to be too thin to blend in with Frontier.

You might get some ideas from Extra Crispy's side-by-side reviews (it doesn't include Frontier unfortunately but most of the other options are there): link
