Heroscape: Road to the Forgotten Forest

It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

An idea I have been playing with for a long while was using Tyranid Attack and Space Hulk board pieces for game maps.

I was recently introduced to Level 7 by Privateer Press and thought the room squares would also be nice for a quick RPG or Tactical Map board. Which reminded me that I could use Betrayal on the House on Haunted Hill in the same way.

Any other games that have good game pieces that could work for RPG or Tac Maps?

There are some 3D ("4D") puzzles of cities that could provide pieces, and various versions of Monopoly and Risk could help.

The old Legions of Steel boxed set had a modular board very much like Space Hulk. Doom the Boardgame is also similar.

On the fantasy side, Descent, Dungeon, and Castle Ravenloft would work well in this regard.

I'd suggested Build-Your-Own Monopoly building tiles, side-cropped, with Heroscape's. Original idea was for Battletech, mostly cool response because of scale.

I've seen Mall Madness used almost as is for zombie apocalypse, and the walls for Battletech-ish fortresses.

Recently coolly received Risk: Battleground Rogue has some interesting mapboards. Massively reduced at Target, and some [80] usable modern figs as well.

Just realized that the fantasy elements are probably inconsequential as to allow use of boards from Heroquest, DragonStrike(TSR), Dark World, etc.

Not modular, mind you…
