The Brigade boys have been busy yet again even in this current heat wave that's hitting good old Blighty, anyway straight from their Blog comes the start of their South African wheeled vehicles. :) enjoy zac This week's new release is another pair of remastered models in our 15mm SF range – more correctly it's one remaster and one completely new model. They're also the first wheeled vehicles in the new range, which means that we now have hover, grav, tracked and wheeled to choose from.
The South African Confederation Rhino tank and Wildebeest heavy APC are large, six-wheeled vehicles. The Rhino carries an 11cm railgun and a secondary autocannon in a two-man turret, with advanced sensors in the left-hand side. Two further crewmembers, the driver and EW specialist (who also has a secondary set of driving controls), sit forward of the turret but protected by the bulk of the engine.
The Wildebeest has a two-man crew, driver and commander. The commander also controls the forward turret which is fitted with either a twin MG or an Umuvi light anti-tank missile system. The roomy troop compartment can accommodate up to twelve fully armed infantry, although squads are usually smaller and the extra space is used for supplies and additional ammunition. The basic APC model also has a roof hatch with a manually-controlled pintle weapon that can be manned by one of the passengers.
SF15-602 – Rhino MBT – £9.50 GBPSF15-607 – Wildebeest APC – £8.50 GBP |

Heat wave? I guess for the UK it is but in Texas I'll take 81 any day. What's really hot is these new vehicles. |

A friend of ine was so enamoured with these designs that he built some himself in 15mm and used them for an Apex Dragoons force in Slammers. I remember someone on TMP commenting "how do they turn if you can't turn the wheels?" to which I said 'Argocat'
I have to say I love them – I think they are nice designs and the non-turning wheels actually add to it for me: makes for a whole different "not a BMP or a Striker" feel to them. I assume the APC will eventually come with more turret options than you can shake a stick at? :) John T PS, Tony: if you ever feel the need to do jeeps or similar light vehicles for this force, can they please, please loook like argocats? They would be just sooooo in keeping :) |

Sweet! Brigade's new vehicles just get better and better. The detailing is excellent and really gives off that sci-fi vibe. |

Thanks everyone. The building is indeed a 15mm version of the Munitions Bunker, should be released sometime in the next few weeks. |

What's the best way to get these in the US? Do they have a yearly sale with reduced shipping? |

Nice vehicles and sweet paint jobs…I could use those as autonomous robots on the field of a 28 mm game. |

Redroom, I don't know about shipping charges, but Brigade Models has an annual sale with 15% off their miniatures in December or January. I bought some in, I think, January this year. |

Delivery is excellent (at least it has been to me in Illinois), and the prices are reasonable. If you were to order three Rhinos, including shipping, they would come out to about $17.19 USD a piece shipped to the U.S. A similar vehicle, let's say a Wheeled Superheavy Armoured Vehicle 3-pack ordered from Khurasan, including shipping, works out to about $16.66 USD each, and they're shipped in country. Seems like Brigade is quite reasonable to me. I say, don't wait, gettem now! |
