The July 19, 1757/2014 fictional Battle of Braunsdorf battle was our second in the new French invasion of Western Germany. Second? Yes. We are restarting the SYW and calling it Cycle II. (See bottom of this post for history so far. * * * * * * * * * * Here it is in Campaigns In Germania: link * * * * * * * * * * Once again the AAR advances by briefly captioned photos. It's easy and quick to understand and read. There are lots of lovely, stately and resplendent uniforms to enjoy. We also had a great time; companionable too. * * * * * * * * * * Votre Serviteur et ami, Respectfully, Bill P. ---------- * Cycle II so far: #1 Saxons broke out of the Pirna camp. #2 French turn back a British force in N. America. #3 Hamelburg. British and Allies defeat the French. #4 Braunsdorf. French _________ the Allies. Sorry you need to read the AAR to find out what happened. #5 We next repair to cold and desolate East Prussia. ---------- |

Protzdam, indeed. Funny, I was thinking as I was reading but before I got to that bit that I should name one of my units that exactly – in honor of the influence Drums Along The Mohawk (Bill's own rules) had on my French and Indian War collection. Awaiting photography and blog posting are are ten units each with about 42 figures (varies slightly) in each company (used to be battalions but I've decided to have them as companies). But what unit in the FIW could properly bear that name (my campaign is fictional so ideas are welcome)? Perhaps a French regiment recruited in the minor German states? Wonderful as always, Gross Hertzog von Protz. EMW |

Boarding a plane, so I'll have to enjoy this later, but I wanted to comment that the first photo with the panoramic view is stunning. Good reminder of all the best about old school, big unit wargaming. Rick |
