My newest battalion level book on July 2, 1863 from Cemetery Ridge to Little Round Top is scheduled for release in middle to late August.

I will be giving two seminars on Sickles' Salient at Fall In on Friday and Saturday at 3 pm.

Amazon is offering it a a pre-publication price

I also have a blog "Ramblings of a Military Historian"

Thanks, Mike Priest

Already pre-ordered the book previously. I have been waiting to read it eagerly. The wait is killing me!

Will check out your blog. Thanks.

Another book I have to get. If only you were not a great author, I would not feel obligated to add it next to your other books on the shelf.

My newest battalion level book

Interesting angle JMP, just what constitutes a "battalion level book"?

John Michael Priest24 Aug 2014 8:50 a.m. PST

The book, which is now available through SavasBeatie, is written from the front line soldiers' perspectives. The maps are detailed regimental and battalion level maps. This book does not concentrate on grand strategies and generals. It follows the same detailed writing that started with Antietam:The Soldiers' Battle.

Signed books are available through Savas Beatie. The books through Amazon and Barnes and Noble will be available September 19.

Sorry for not getting back sooner. Things have been a bit hectic.

I will be presenting two talks at Fall In on Friday and Saturday at 3:00 p.m. Each day. The topic is Sickles's Salient. Books will be available for sale.
