Hello all, I've recently moved from Wales to Elland and am wondering if there are any clubs in the Halifax or Huddersfield area that do historicals as I am keen to get back into the hobby. My main interest in Napoleonics, but I'm effectively starting from scratch as I've parted company with most of my old figures over time so would happily consider any game that's fun and gives me an excuse to push painted figures round a table. There is a club in Halifax. I think they meet in a social club on Claremount Road. Not sure what day they meet or to be honest what the games they are mainly playing there at the moment are. Let me see what I can find out, I know a few members who may be able to help. |

Mike, from my seat in the corner I can see 40k, Bolt Action, FoW, FoG, possibly Warhammer and even Warhammer ECW being played last night. On my own table we play a variety of rules and periods including Longstreet, Micronauts, Maurice, Smoke on the Water, Canvas Eagles, The Rules With No Name, Yellow Ribbon, soon to start Panzergrenadier Deluxe, and I've probably missed something out. Yes, Napoleonic naval and Grande Armee 6mm Napoleonics. Something for almost everyone I think. Come and say "Hello", we'll be happy to see you. Andrew |

Mike, I moved from Wales to Huddersfield in 1976 and attended the Halifax club for a year or two. I can tell you they are a nice bunch though they know their WRG 5th inside out. West Yorkshire was the centre of the wargaming world then and I am sure little has changed. Happy memories, though the beer takes some getting used to, (Websters with a BIG head). |

I am in Queensbury and there is certainly a club somewhere in Halifax up Claremont Road. Been once years ago when it was elsewhere. At one time it was a great club and may well still be. Craig |

As above, it's at the Belgrave Social Club in the Function Room. Maybe around 40 people there last week, though that was unusually busy. |
