I found some NEW 'custom-made' 3-D printed ships via ETSY! (thinking of using them with 'non-scale Macross SDF-1' from Wonderfest 2014 in Japan IF I can get one!!!!) I've already gotten 3 of the 4 'anime-class' ships, (4th is on order)…and they are very adaptable and neat! Anyway…..here's the order info, pricing and image link from SCN! link or go to the ETSY page at: link Keep on Slishing! Sgt DWW-btod |

Just a tad. Wouldn't it be cheaper to get RavenStar or any other sculptor to make one (or a dozen) for the same price or cheaper? |

For getting one of the designs shown? Yes. For giving them images and getting a unique build? Not so much. Doug |

As 'the beast' pointed out….getting a CUSTOM-PRINTED miniature made from just drawings or images you provide…those prices are 'reasonable'. The 'flip side' of that is if you're buying copies of ships ALREADY done/already 'mastered' as it were, the prices drop drastically. It's the design work for a 'custom' ship that costs more. Once it's been designed and a ship produced, then that work doesn't have to be done again. It's just a matter of running the same design again and materials/time. Don't get me wrong, I've gotten stuff from Shapeways and Sculpteo stores both, BUT I've been frustrated when I order something one time and it prints….and go to re-order and it 'can't'…because of how they 'print' things in blocks or their computer program trying to fit jobs together, etc. That's a problem I DON'T have with that ETSY store…and I can order a TOTALLY new/unmade ship….or just 'copies'….of existing designs he has on file. My choice, my budget and DIRECT contact with the person who does the work, from start to final product! For me, it's worth the 'extra' cost for something UNIQUE, and I plan to have him make some other, similar Anime-class designs over the coming months. So you might want to keep an eye on the site and see if the cost per copy is something YOU might be interested in, or go 'whole-hog' and have your own design done 'from scratch'. Folks with 3-D auto-cad programs can do more of the work themselves of course…..but for my limited skills and hardware…this works GREAT! Sgt DWW-btod |

Yeah, I think what you're primarily paying for is the time the sculptor spends making a custom-built piece for you. You could probably contact and ask him about the price of just getting an existing design printed, if you really wanted one. |

I wonder if they can do a ship mini of this about 5 inches long from bow to stern….
Hmmm…

Dunno, Leland. He looks to be darn close to that already. You just have to supply 'plausible deniability'… ;->= Doug |

Here is the 'blocked in images' of the 4th ship in the Anima ships series, I've paid to have designed and printed out:
and
AFter that, I've got plans for him to do an 'ark' and uprated varient of one of the first 4 ships! Mwah-hah-hah! You DO realize…that AFTER I've paid for any design in the 'anime' series I'm doing….OTHERS can purchase 'copies' for less than the FIRST one…(which includes the design time). No, I don't get any special 'perks or kickback' by the way. I pay for the design time for the FIRST of any design I want, additional copies are less, period. I'm hoping others will want them of course, because this will encourage this 'independent producer' to maybe do more/different ships. But not everyone will want the same designs I want done. That also means I might buy 'additional copies' of ALREADY produced designs someone else had made. Works for me! Sgt DWW-btod |

Did you guys see the Kerbal Space Program Omnilander model?
Unfortunately, I'm utterly tapped out. I'm so broke that I wouldn't have internet if I hadn't found an unsecured wifi connection to piggyback. Because I'd be all over some Robotech/Macross ships. |

Yes, yes I did. I hate wanting without being sure what I'd do with… Still… Doug |
