Thanks, Frederick. Actually, the Uniate, Slavonic, or other Eastern Rite churches were what gave me the idea. We had one in our town when I was growing up and the nuns took us there once a year for mass. Took me the longest time to figure out why that one was part of "our" church but the regular Russian Orthodox church a block away wasn't. Of course, the Ruritanian Rite is much sillier. |
