Bomb sniffing dogs have become an important part of law enforcement, but that could change. Over the weekend, researchers at the University of California, Berkeley published their findings in the journal Nature Nanotechnology.

They found a way to make laser sensors sensitive enough to be able to detect "incredibly minute concentrations of explosives," according to the UC Berkeley News Center. Mmmm…don't think so, this could be a less expensive solution than buying a trained up explosive canine for those departments with small budgets.

Just strap the laser to the dog. But now you can use an untrained dog. Then the dogs will go on strike…"Dang robots are taking our jobs!!"
