Hi

I just tried to include an image in a post:

TMP link

… but it didn't work, or at least I don't see any image when I view the post on my computer.

I did what the FAQ info for this topic suggested, cutting and pasting the URL of the photo. I first had to upload the pic to Flickr, in order to get a URL. But nonetheless the image doesn't appear, instead giving a link. Is this due to how Flickr works?

If so, how do I generate a URL for my own pics, as they don't have a pre-exisitng web-based URL, and my attempt to generate one via Flickr doesn't seem to have worked.

Thanks, regards

Seb

Good luck with that. I have tried it many times but succeeded only once.

I put photos on photobucket and use the URL it generates. I've never had any problem with it

Thanks Cardinal… but how did you do it? So I can do it myself next time

Thanks also HistoryPhD, I might try that next time

Bill also got back to me (on another thread) and told me – I'm new to Flickr as well as TMP! – that:

Flickr says that "sharing is restricted" for this image.

…it's all part of the learning curve, it would seem

Go to Photo bucket, load up your pics in an album (or not). Open the picture and look over to the right of the screen, there are a few different options; email, direct, html and IMG, just click in the field next to the IMG, it will change to yellow and say "copied". Now go to your TMP post, and right click to paste and the URL will be copied in your post, then select preview to make sure it took.

Hope this helps.

well I opene your pic on the b;log and then saved it my computer and uploaded it to imageshack and then cut an pasted the line straight into ths dialogue box her and entered submit. I at first just cat and pasted the url but here doens't seem to like .png files so when I saved it I saved as a jpeg file which here just absolutely

Flickr has made it ever increasingly difficult to link to pictures hosted on it, use a different image hosting site.

It's not difficult on Flickr – just not obvious. You're fine as long as you remember that the URL that will display the picture inside your post must end with ".jpg", or it will just show up as a link.

See my instructions on Sebastian's other thread:

Hi Sebastian,

Red Mist's post is a very, very easy way to go. I hope RM does not mind if I respectfully make a correction to his post:

For TMP, it's much better to click "Direct" than "IMG". See the screen shot from my Photobucket account here:

picture

You'll note on RM's (really nice!) picture that there is HTML code above and below it. You see this throughout TMP by Photobucket users.

Clicking anywhere on the highlighted part to the right of "Direct" in the above screen shot will copy the picture in a different way from using "IMG". It will not leave any html code before and after your image. The image I pasted above was by using "Direct"
