The Compaigne de Barthe post 338 versus TAS and Stewart Regiment
My mate Jim and I played a quick game using two forces. Defending the city were Jim's three detachments of the later Compaigne de Barthe (post 338) attempting to stop a single detachment of the Stewart Regiment who had support from a single Terran Authority Star Marine detachment.
The French forces – their frst time out on the table – were using the new Brigade models EuroFed vehicles, including the Montsabert MBT and Support Tank, a Glorie hog firing over open sights on table and a quad AA tank the Juin. Supporting them in the heabvy hitter department, they had both Garibaldi tank destroyers and a brace of the Gallieni tank destroyer as well.
Finally, they had support from Tassigny APCs, MICVs and missile carriers plus infantry – including fan bikes – from GZG and some light Comanche 4x4 vehicles from Rebel Miniatures. In command the CdB had Colonel Barthe himself: LV10 and with Elite skills of Defensive Stalwart and Morale Officer. They also fielded an enhanced sniper to direct missile attacks. The Stewart Regiment – gain on their first outing on the table top – had Brigade Models vehicles from the British and NeoSov ranges with Armies Army figures.
The TAS had Old Crow vehicles and GZG infantry and were both old hands on the gaming table!
In the end, despite hails of both infantry buzzbombs and missile attacks, the CdB had succeeded only in destroying almost half of the Stewart Regiment (including almost all of the infantry) and taking the main guns and some secondary systems off of the TAS heavy HALO tanks but only managing to actually kill one TAS infantry squad. By the end of five turns the evening had run out and both sides were suffering.
