…on a Kickstarter Budget.

"The next Star Trek film is coming sooner than you think. It's scheduled to wrap production in the fall, at which point it will be edited into a 90-minute feature starring well-known actors and boasting a deep bench of design and production talent.

But this one won't be co-starring Chris Pine and Zoe Saldana.

Wow! That's some point-blank shooting for sure. Loved the D-7 hovering above the ruined cityscape, reminded me of a scenario I designed.

Three things:

1) Damn nice looking movie.

2) Why are all the Federation ships one offs? (it is the way of all Trek works, not a criticism of this in particular)

3) And why are all Trek battles conducted at boarding party range?

got some decent actors in there too, including Tony Todd, the other son of Mogh…

3 becuase at actual battle ranges you see a black feild.

I think most space movies have to do that. Like the absurd amount of space crap in Armegedon. If you tried to show a real comit tail it would largely look like nothing. And then how do you justify all those expensive cool looking models? Yes it ewould be better if all scenes just showed the view from the two opposoing bridges, but more fans would freak about that than the loimited number of us that realize the ranges are whacked.

I have been watching this developing and can not wait till it is released. Some of the "fan" projects are pretty good.
