Are there any grid-based tactics rulesets out there that let you use your own minis? I'm looking for something in the vein of Endless: Fantasy Tactics, Krosmaster Arena, DDM, etc. that play on a gridded map – but let you easily customize your characters and bring your own miniatures to the table.

Song of Blades and Heroes would be ideal and has grid variants, but the game was never really designed to be played on square or hex grids. I've tried it a few times and it always felt like an odd compromise to make the rules fit.

Surely someone has put something together with grids in mind?

"Warfare in the Age of Magic", by Peter Pig, uses a gridded tabletop.

GURPS or Man to Man from Steve Jackson Games. They are RPGs but the combat is hex based. Man to Man is simply the combat rules portion of the game.

Man-To-Man is loads of fun. So is Melee and Wizard if you want an even easier (less complex) set of rules.

Never played it, but it sounds like you are describing D&D 4th Edition: square based grid mini's gaming with an RPG overlay (I still play 2nd Ed. AD&D, no grid really, but it can be added).

If hexes count there is Battleore, Command and Colors and that GOT variant. For battle sized games, I mean.

I loved Melee and Wizard when I was a teen. Sadly, I threw my copies out years ago.
