Our local weeknight group is gaming the interwar era and telling stories about it. The first story is 15,000 Miles From The Past. Chapter 1 is The Last Naval Battles here:

Imagine the South Pacific between WWI and WWII. Naval Action, Shore Parties, Seaplanes, Heroes, Villains, Pulp, Adventure, Science, Science Fiction, Indigenous People/Animals all in tropical settings.

Stories advance by briefly captioned photos of locations I've visited accentuated with historical miniatures on our tabletops.

This will be different than anything before. I hope you enjoy reading and viewing our images. Thank you in advance.

PS
If some are familiar with The Campaigns of General Pettygree and Campaigns In Germania, the new series will be similar and better.

Great stuff Bill. That just reminds me that I have to get going and finish up the last of the Germans and natives for the upcoming blog posts.

>>Like Tales of the Gold Monkey?<<

Doesn't appear to be. This looks closer to WW I than W II.

Very nice photos and miniatures.
When I think of the Pacific in this period between wars I think of the enigmatic Lt Col Pete Ellis, the Marine whose mission is still debated but whose warnings about Japan were very prescient. Did he die an alcoholic or was he murdered by the Japanese for knowing too much?
I know his active period is later than your initial setting but I hope he or someone like him shows up in this.

That has cheered me up no end! Thanks!

Bill, would that be the Galapagos Islands, maybe?

Curious to follow this. Without the blogging, I embarked on something similar a few years ago but set in the later 1800's. Didn't go to far with it because all of the players ended up on different islands! Not much fun in that. In redesign to put everyone on one island: Happysteamcart Island. Maybe one day there might be an encounter betwixt the denizens of Malabascar Island and Happysteamcart Island? Of course, figures wise there is the challenge of varied scale, I have 15s and you've stumbled about in that larger scale. Doesn't mean there can't be contact and cross-pollination.
