Hussar busby bags seem to be in one of the brighter colours of the uniform, either coat or breeches colour or facing colour. Piping as the normal lace colour. Each regiment had it's own scheme. See these plates at Gallica: link Chasseur bags seem to be in the facing colour, any piping in white only: link |

You might want to check back when you are about to do elite companies of the hussars. One, in particular, is quite odd. The 3rd Hussars wore "gris argentin" uniforms – dolman, pelisse and breeches – edged dark red or "cramoisi." They had white metal buttons. Rousselot shows their elites with scarlet plume, scarlet bag, and crimson piping on the bag – hard to depict in 28mm figures. My data are all packed away, but perhaps others here can mention more exceptions. GdeP |
