Can anyone who has these comment on their quality and durabilty? Do they lay flat? Do they warp/bend over time? Are they solid latex or something else coated with latex? If the latter, does the latex peel off over time? Do they requir any special storage precautions? Thanks. |

I have some of their 2" dirt roads. They are solid latex, lay flat and have not yet bent or warp. I had the same question about storage and was told that for long term storage use wax paper or talc to separate the sections. They come in a flat box (i.e. they aren't shipped rolled up) that I kept to store them in. Hope this helps, Tim |

Hi all Why buy latex roads? if you want something to last buy flexible after cure polyurethane roads these take paint well like ordinary hard after cure polyurethane resins for buildings but stay flexible and have a very long life span. I have had mine for over 6 years and they are just like new, i wouldn't touch latex. |

Who sells the polyurethane ones you're talking about? |

I really like the MKP latex roads, and had both the 1 and 2 inch versions. Unfortunately, I keep my game stuff in the garage, and in the heat of a Texas summer, the 1" roads all melted together. They were stored in a plastic tub in the under table compartment of my game table, so were not in any way exposed to direct sunlight. I presume that the heat somehow caused the reaction to restart. I never mentioned it to Will at MKP, because really, what could he do about it? Perhaps if I had put a coat of paint on them it would not have happened. However, the way they were colored meant that paint really wasn't necessary. In the final analysis, I would really like to purchase them again, but am a little afraid to. I would also be interested in finding out more about the polyurethane roads. BWW |
