I painted up a box of GW's Mirkwood Rangers (from the Hobbit line) this past week. Nicely posed sculpts. WIP shots and a final group shot here:

Nice work Kevin, the airbrush certainly did a great job.

Nice paint job. I have some too and I noticed they are on the small side. I guess that's because they're elves.

Very nice – cool sculpts too

They're on the small side because they're 25 mm, not 28.

Really nicely done, these could just tempt me to into buying some.

Are they on the small side compared to other 28mm including Warhammer minis (which would be expected) or are they small even for other LOTR?

Plastic LOTR is usually smaller than metal figures, but The Hobbit releases seem smaller still.

These figures are small compared to other Lord of the Rings figures from GW. Understanding that the line is more 25mm than 28mm, they are still significantly smaller than other similar elves or mannish figures in the line.

The cynics among us will say GW is saving money by using less plastic on the smaller figures …

Maybe its just a case of new sculptors?
